"Catholics In Action" - Parish youth participate in a 3 day service retreat designed to teach young people about the need  for direct service and social change.

July - August
Youth of our parish participate in various summer projects, such as "Kids Against Hunger",  that allow them to contribute directly to the needs of the hungry and the poor.

Respect Life Rummage Sale
Respect Life Rummage Sale - Proceeds benefit local respect life projects.

Life Chain - An opportunity to gather with other Christians  as a silent but visible witness for the sanctity of life.

CROP Hunger Walk - As members of the Albia Ministerial Association, we donate monetary funds or participate in a walk to earn funds to feed the hungry.

Operation Christmas Child - (The Shoe Box Project) Fill a shoe box to send Christmas cheer to children throughout the world.

Pie Bake Sale with proceeds going to the local Helping Hands Organization

Angel Tree - Christmas gifts are purchased, wrapped and donated to children of Monroe County.

Christmas Gifts for the Local Nursing Homes - Parishioners are asked to purchase or make and wrap gifts to be distributed to the residents of our Local Nursing Homes.

Grade 9 Soup Supper - Ninth grade students prepare and serve a soup supper to the Parish community to raise funds to support their Corporal Works of Mercy Projects.
The Corporal Works of Mercy are practiced year round at St. Mary's Parish with several ongoing Social Action Ministries. 

The Haiti Project 
The Parish offers financial and spiritual support to our sister parish, Our Lady of Lourdes, in Laborde, Haiti, through the assistance of Haiti native, Fr. Ron Legerme.

1st Sunday of the Month Social Action Coffee and Donuts
Through the hospitality of our Social Action Committee, we gather as community the first Sunday of each month.  Proceeds from the free-will offering are used to support the needs of the poor in our community.

3rd Sunday Food Collection Weekend
Donations of non-perishable food items are collected the 3rd weekend of each month and donated to the local Helping Hands organization.

Neighborhood of Hope
Volunteers provide immediate short-term assistance in the event of an emergency, i.e., prepare a meal, provide transportation, baby sit, etc.  Call 932-5589 for assistance.

Albia Ministerial Association Assistance
The Parish works in partnership with other Christian denominations in Albia, to provide assistance to the members of the community as needed.

In addition the Parish participates in several seasonal Social Action projects throughout the year.
